I love your “Caddyshack” reference with the gopher. Some of Bill Murray’s efforts to kill the gopher included C4 explosives molded to look like a gopher’s potential bunny rabbit friend, and I believe a squirrel as well. The gopher outsmarts him every time. Your use of comic relief is great, especially in an otherwise serious piece. I should work on that with my own essays.
